Whether you’re organizing events, reaching out to potential donors, or crafting compelling campaigns, fundraising helps sharpen your organizational and persuasive skills while making a tangible difference. Different Volunteer Positions with Gleanings
Hospitality Crew: Assist in preparing, serving, and cleaning up after provided lunches to construction crew on blitz days.
Gopher/Errand Runner: Assist construction manager with various organizational tasks; i.e., gathering materials, pick-up supplies, and for transport purposes.
Construction Crew: Will work under volunteer supervisor, to assist with worksite lifting, hammering, sawing, and following specific instructions. MUST be 18 years old. (14 years old if accompanied by an adult)
Landscape Crew: Needed on a regular basis to maintain lawn care, and will need to be able to use lawn equipment and available ideally on a weekly basis during summer/spring.
Committee Member: Assist in guiding and facilitating the various activities of Gleanings Housing. Needs to be passionate about providing affordable housing or toward ending homelessness in Kentucky. Specific Positions Below:

Gleanings Housing, Inc is open to the people of Kentucky but is based primarily in Lexington, KY area, so all volunteer work will be located in this area. But we still promote affordable housing across Kentucky!
Quick Volunteer Guidelines
Age 14 to 17, must have a parent/guardian
Any skill level is welcome
Lunch will be provided
Typical Hours to volunteer in 4 hour increments are weekends between 8:00am-3:00pm.

When it comes to making housing affordable, we are determined to find a way to use all volunteers. From individuals to groups, we want to partner with you. We seek volunteers for all purposes and areas. Opportunities range anywhere from administrative duties to onsite labor, or event tasks that can be completed from the comfort of your own home. Legacy Home Landscaping
Volunteer positions in landscaping are open right now for Legacy Home in Lexington, KY. This position is for weekly to bi-weekly lawn trimming, flower box cultivating, and yard bush trimming. Fill out the volunteer form below and mention this position if you are interested and available.

Do I need to commit to long periods of time in order to volunteer?
No, Gleanings Housing wishes to invite everyone who desires to aid affordable housing to join us. We have some guidelines for you to look over and consent forms on the day of your volunteering, but this is not necessarily a long term commitment on your part. Join us for as often as you would like and support your community.
Can I easily sign up to receive updates from Gleanings Housing?
It is easier than ever before to stay up-to-date with Gleanings Housing Events and Activities. We now have a sign up for any type of information you would prefer. What is the best way to donate?
When deciding to donate to Gleanings Housing we only ask that the donor choose between a larger annual donation or a smaller monthly donation. Each option is just as effective for our work. Then there are options for businesses to donate in-kind materials. This is an option open to individuals as well.
A Glimpse At Magoffin
Gleanings Housing, Inc used construction volunteers, community organizations, local businesses, monetary donations, in-kind donations, and community support to complete the Magoffin Triplex Project. We now have tenants in Magoffin and working to ensure they are successful in their housing pursuits. Thank you to all of the community volunteers that offered their hand in making this Triplex possible for Gleanings’ tenants.

Fundraising
In our fundraising efforts across Lexington, Gleanings has been able to raise funds while engaging with members of the community who have experience living with the deficits in the local rental housing market. Investing with small monthly donations of $25 can develop housing for multiple households.
